At Green Light Arts, our conviction is that theatre is essential to human understanding and a powerful force that strengthens the social fabric of our community.
As one thread in Waterloo Region’s vibrant cultural tapestry, we are one part of a much larger ecosystem of remarkable artists, organizations, and communities who are shaping this region, province, and country through artistic work. At GLA, we do our part by creating theatrical experiences that foster community vibrancy, spark wonder, and ignite hope and creativity in individuals.
Over our 12-year history, GLA has delivered 27 theatrical projects to date including 8 premieres. We have created over 350 paid arts jobs, engaged more than 15 local schools with arts programming, and partnered with over 30 local community organizations to deliver high-quality outreach events to ignite conversations around the social themes of our work.
We have so much gratitude for our audiences, donors, public funders, artists, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and collaborators for helping the company get this far. It really does take a village to make great art happen. And we are committed to ensuring that GLA remains a meaningful contributor to our collective cultural landscape for many years to come.
