Welcome to Green Light Arts

Founded in 2014, Green Light Arts is an award-winning charitable theatre company based in Waterloo Region with the conviction that theatre is essential to human understanding and a powerful force that strengthens the social fabric of our community.

To date, we’ve delivered over 27 theatrical productions—including 9 premieres—that center underrepresented voices and bring urgent stories to the stage. Our work embraces artistic risk and sparks dialogue around pressing social issues, creating daring, text-based contemporary theatre that resonates deeply with audiences. Beyond the stage, we mentor emerging artists, provide paid apprenticeships, deliver arts education, and curate outreach events that invite our community into the conversations our artists ignite.

Through rigorous professional practice we uphold and further the artform of theatre. Through the artform of theatre, we enrich the social fabric of our community.

INVEST IN CULTURE.
INVEST IN COMMUNITY.

The 12-year journey that has brought Green Light Arts to where we are today has been largely thanks to the generosity of individual donors.

Every dollar donated, every hour of volunteer time, helps us deliver the highest theatrical experiences possible—engage our community in making sense of the world through a shared love of the arts—and contribute to a stronger arts ecology in Waterloo Region and beyond.

Help us green light the arts!
