Established in 2014, green light arts brings people together from all communities to celebrate theatre arts and propel creative ideas into action.
Founded in 2014, Green Light Arts is a producing theatre arts company based in and serving Waterloo Region. We produce live theatrical productions, arts education programming, and community building events. The art we do wrestles with and is driven by the ideas, themes, and challenges of contemporary society. We are a company of community builders, art creators, and cultural leaders who use the performing arts as our tool for positive social change.
To provide creative programming that inspires, nurtures and challenges audiences; to uphold the professional theatre industry through rigorous practice and high-calibre work; to ignite the creative spark in youth; and cultivate a relevant artistic voice in contemporary society.
To be recognized as an essential contributor to the theatre and arts community of Waterloo Region.
- To present well-crafted, bold, challenging plays from Canada and around the world;
To use theatre as means of encouraging collaboration, enhancing confidence and emboldening imagination through enriching educational programs for youth;
To use theatre as the beginning of a conversation to inspire audiences towards positive social change;
To make theatre accessible to all, regardless of ability or socio-economic status;
- To celebrate and reflect diversity and inclusion in our work of different cultures, genders, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, education, class and beliefs.
